Topic of this work is Portfolio strategy. The paper as such analyzes the strategy as a term, strategic management, process of strategy production and implementation and strategic planning. Also, the study includes five generic competitive strategies that are extremely important for successful competition and achieving competitive advantage over its competitors. It is important to point up that the strategy has its levels, the global level, the level of business units and functional areas of the business. In this paper the unit deals only with portfolio strategy that performs the allocation of funds and distributes the group between different business units in order to accelerate the achievement of strategic business group objectives. Portfolio matrix is also processed just as BCG industrial growth and market share matrix, McKinsey / GE industrial attractiveness and business strength matrix and ADL - portfolio matrix of industry life cycle and competitive position.
