The aim of this thesis is to give a simpler and closer look at the constitution of the Republic of Croatia, its composition and function. Throughout this thesis, the basic and common provisions and division of powers will be discussed, as well as the changes throughout history. The paper is composed of eleven chapters. The second part discusses historic context and establishment of the Republic of Croatia. Third chapter is still focused on the historic development of the constitution of the Republic of Croatia. The fourth and fifth chapter discuss general definition and structure of the constitution. Sixth part deals with basic provisions, backed with several articles and further explanations for better understanding. Seventh chapter, in the same manner speaks about rights and freedoms and national minorities status prescribed by the constitution. Throughout the eighth chapter division of powers and officials that take part in it are being discussed. As a central part of the constitution, because of their mutual connection and its importance, the ninth chapter deals with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia. Tenth chapter describes the changes to the constitution, since its adoption until today. In the last, eleventh chapter, conclusions concerning the topic of the thesis are given.
